Each pulse of the laser heats up the hair in the designated area just enough to obstruct future hair growth. Discomfort is minimized by a specially designed handpiece that protects and cools the topmost layer of skin.

Depending on the size of the treatment area, the procedure can take anywhere from just a few minutes to an hour—larger treatment areas may take longer. Multiple treatment sessions are recommended for ideal results, as the hair follicles in the active growth phase are most receptive to the laser energy.
